This project was carried out at ArcelorMittal Sestao, one of the most important industrial plants in the steel sector. The facility operates under extremely demanding conditions, with high temperatures, dust, and continuous production processes, requiring robust and reliable lighting solutions.
The objective was to provide a high-performance lighting system capable of delivering efficient and safe illumination in a harsh industrial environment, while ensuring durability and low maintenance.
Challenge to solve
Steel production facilities present some of the most challenging conditions for lighting systems. High levels of dirt, dust in suspension, elevated temperatures, and large mounting heights require luminaires that can withstand extreme environments without compromising performance.
The challenge was to install a lighting solution that offered high luminous efficiency, precise light distribution, strong mechanical resistance, and long service life, while maintaining stable performance over time.
Feron Pro solution
For this project, MOON high-bay luminaires were supplied and installed as the main general lighting solution. Designed specifically for demanding industrial applications, MOON luminaires provide powerful and efficient illumination, perfectly suited to large-scale metallurgical environments.
With a luminous efficacy of up to 170 lm/W, a wide power range from 50W to 240W, and multiple optical options (60°, 90°, and 110°), the luminaires allow precise control of the light distribution, adapting to the specific requirements of each area.
Thanks to their IP66 protection rating and IK10 impact resistance, along with an aluminium die-cast housing and excellent thermal dissipation, MOON luminaires ensure reliable operation and long service life of up to 100,000 hours, even under extreme conditions. Compatibility with various control systems (AC, DALI, DMX, 0–10V) further enhances flexibility and energy efficiency.
